My Grandpa wrote me letters Almost every week Because he lived so far away It was too costly for us to speak |
My grandpa was a "man of God" And he wanted his family saved too He'd write me of God's love And tell me exactually what to do |
My grandpa wrote me about Gods love And how to forgive others Most of all, to always be there For my sisters and brothers |
He'd say "Dede, never give up Life is just too short In Gods "Book of Life", You want a good report". |
These letters helped me so much He'd write all he thought I should know The letters helped to make me think As in God, I continued to grow |
He told me always to be gentle and kind Never wander from God's way Whenever you are feeling low Drop to your knees and pray |
Grandpa said "Always be grateful For the presence of God, from above For in the whole big universe There is nothing more powerful, than His love" |
Yes, Grandpa was a wonderful teacher He guided many a person, the right way Grandpa's in Heaven, with God now And I know I'll see him again someday |
